The Shifting Heart by Richard Beynon

The Shifting Heart

by Richard Beynon

This classic Australian play is being revived by the Blackheath Theatre Company.

The play has irresistible warmth and emotional depth in telling the trials of a migrant family in 1950s Collingwood, Melbourne.

It toured nationally across Australia in 1957 before making its London West End debut two years later.

The ABC made a radio version of the play in 1962, and it was adapted for Australian television on the ABC in 1968. Since then, The Shifting Heart has had several acclaimed and notable revivals.

Our strong cast and crew are deep into rehearsals for this production, which premieres at Blackheath’s Phillips Hall on 30 April.
